Janet and Sheri are passionate about saving shelter dogs.
We go to the Downey and Agoura shelters to find the dogs that are next in line to be euthanized and work to find them homes.
We are so grateful to all the kind people we’ve met who’ve adopted them.
Our 501c3 non-profit is called “Saving Jay, Inc.” in honor of one of our very first rescues.
This is Jay. He was 8 months old when we met him at the Downey shelter. When the shelter worker tried to bring him out of his kennel to meet us, he was too scared to walk. When we finally got to pet him and calm him down, he started wagging his tail and acting more like a playful puppy. The hardest part was when we had to leave and he had to go back to his kennel. He was so sad. It absolutely broke our hearts. We had taken a video of Jay which we posted on social media and we found a wonderful foster mom who was willing to take him, so we went back a few days later a picked him up. We have since found him a fur-ever home!! ❤️ Click here to see the amazing transformation from frightened shelter dog to happy puppy.
This sweet boy is a Dutch Shepherd, about 3 years old, transferred to the Agoura shelter from Lancaster. He loves to run around and play but he can also be calm - he loves cuddles and hugs and knows how to sit, lay down and shake, as you can see with shelter volunteer, Jill. He’s also good on a leash. If you have other dogs, the shelter encourages you to bring them for a meet & greet with Dolby. He’s truly a great dog! Please contact us if you can find room in your heart and home or share a link to our website if you know anyone else you can. Thank you!
This is Mac. Sprung from prison in the nick of time! We couldn’t leave him at the Downey shelter any longer. Looking for an adoption. He’s house trained, crate trained, knows some commands, good on walks, gentle, loves people, is not aggressive toward other dogs. Just needs some basic training and someone willing to give him love and attention. Contact us if you're in our area and want to adopt Mac. JanetAndSheri@MortonDonovan.com. Thank you!.
